Search engines have begun to break information offered in results down by local regions. Rather than having a “global” internet these search engines are trying to make their results more relevant for their users. While many of us still find companies around the world we are interested in, it does help to know that we have local options. The changes to the local campaign are going to affect how search engine optimisation can be used. Furthermore it will determine how you need to act for international ranking.

You have a couple of ways to structure your website server. The server is going to tell someone where you are located. For example if you have a site registered in Africa but a mailing address and IP address coming from Los Angeles you are typically considered as targeting two areas. You are targeting African and US users. The page rank in this case will be determined by who is doing the searching, and where they are from.

If your goal is to target the US but you live in Africa you have another way of setting up the server. Instead of registering your company name with Africa you can instead register it in the US. This makes the registration of the site, the IP address, and mailing address all in the US. The same can be said for someone wanting to target the UK, though they live in the US. The point is your information is going to be region specific.

Google and the other search engines will recognise that you are a local company, and see only the site you want ranked in an international search engine over your other sites. This option is geo targeting. You are using keywords the UK will recognise. You are also using a site that is registered in the UK.

If you are targeting an international country with a different language ensure that you supply the native language of that country. Also consider the keywords you target to enhance your SEO. We mentioned this a little, but we’ll go into more detail now. In UK English there are colloquialisms that you can use which may get you more traffic. There are also different spellings between US and UK English. Not all words are different, but it pays to know which words should be spelled with an S rather than a Z. The search engine will recognise these variations.

Search engine optimisation is a means to gain consumers through search engines. The search engine determines your page rank, thus your placement in their results based on a few strategies you employ. Many companies already have down the web content, adding new content, and keywords. Website construction or site architecture is where certain issues can arise.

We are not going to discuss choosing keywords for very long. Instead we are going to focus on placement of keywords and how best to use them. The keywords that best serve your site can be found through your ideas, feedback, search engines, and server logs.

Once you have the keywords, which you already should have before building your site you can focus on how to use them. We will look at DIY eBooks as an example. You are selling eBooks on refurbishing kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, exterior portions of the house, etc.

Site construction deals in the links you build for the site and how the pages are arranged. The topics we listed above will be broken down into a page for each category.

The URLs you construct should look something like these:
•	Gregsebooks.com/kitchens
•	Gregsebooks.com/bathrooms
•	Gregsebooks.com/bedrooms

Your domain name exists in each URL then you use a keyword that aptly describes what the page will discuss. After each page has been constructed you have to ensure that it is linked properly to the overall website design otherwise you just have a one page website. The homepage and each subsequent page must have a link. A back link, a forward link, a link in the menu, and a link in the site map helps the search engine navigate through your site.

1.	Every page must link to your homepage, site map, and menu.
2.	Your landing pages must have a clear topic to discuss.
3.	Your URL structure must be the easiest format for a search engine to crawl through. A page that does not work will trap the spider, giving you a lower ranking.
4.	Site architecture should be flat, not convoluted.

A flat architecture is basically linking the pages in a logical format, while still having links to the main page. Pages with the About Us information, privacy laws, or contact information do not have to be linked with back links or forward links to every page. You just need a link at the bottom of the page to the contact section or other non essential pages. The bots do not have to search the unimportant pages.

Despite SEO being a word that is bandied about all over the internet, some individuals still have a hard time understanding how it works. Part of the issue comes down to visiting several sites where experts do not seem to agree. If you want to know some SEO information, do not hesitate. Keep Reading!

There are a few methods which help you gain the upper hand in SEO:

•	Emails and Newsletters
•	Affiliate Programmes
•	PPC Ads
•	Comparison and Auction Sites
•	Free SEO options

Let’s take a look at emails and newsletters first. Typically emails and newsletters are for the consumer, but they can also help in search engine optimisation. You see, the more traffic you get to your site and the longer they stay, the better search engines like to rank you. They consider you relevant. You can also post the email information or newsletters on your site. By posting the content you allow the search engines to see the keywords, quality content, and new information. This of course helps you in the result ranks as well.

What you cannot do with the newsletters or emails you may post on your site is restrict them. A site asking for a user name and password to content blocks out the search bots. The bots may get stuck at your site without a direction to get out. This can cause a low ranking.

Affiliate programmes are a way to scare up more traffic for selling the same product. If done incorrectly the tactic can actually hinder your aims in SEO. Any time you join an affiliate programme you need to rework the content on the page they provide you. The content is a duplicate of every site they offer anyone interested in the affiliate programme. Do not get bit by the duplicate content bug.

PPC Ads are another way to get your keywords out there and the consumers to notice you without going through an actual search. The ads just appear on pages where they are most relevant.

Comparison and auction sites work a bit differently than your regular site. You should have both if you want to sell products. In this way you allow the consumer to see what you have, but you can also have a markedly different site to appease the bots.

Lastly take advantage of the free SEO options such as keyword search tools, duplicate content checkers etc. to gain the most from your sites.

There are hundreds of people trying to give you advice regarding your website. It can sometimes be hard to tell who the experts are and what you should follow. The fact is that the information will change a great deal when it comes to creating a successful website or advertising campaign. When the world wide web first began the regulations were not as strict. There did not seem to be a need, but as more and more individuals use the web stricter regulations needed to be in place. The changes that occur typically happen with such frequency that you need to keep reading up to date news every week.

Having mentioned that, consider one of the larger mistakes that occur in pay per click advertising. Hundreds of sites are telling you to choose your campaign keywords and not to overlook the misspellings of keywords. In fact they tell you that misspelling keywords can have a huge effect on your traffic.

There is a catch 22 in this thought. Yes, the larger firms with PPC advertising will usually purchase the more expensive keywords because they can afford it. You are typically purchasing keywords that are low cost. Misspelled words are generally low cost. Misspelled words are also rather frequent by internet searchers. Not everyone has a top level education. Furthermore there are many out there who are extremely intelligent, but they cannot spell to save their lives.

So yes, using misspelled keywords can target an audience that is generally overlooked. Remember in the last paragraph there was a catch 22. This means that those who can spell may not click on your ad. Sure, if you have the right spelling and the wrong spelling they may be wise to what you are trying to accomplish, but misspellings often signify ignorance. While it is an assumption these individuals make, it can lose you a higher percentage of traffic if you use misspellings.

You will have to take a chance. One, you can weigh the option of using properly spelled words for your target audience. You might decide that you have enough traffic by using the correct spellings. However, you might decide that using both is not wrong. In fact if you have half of your pay per click advertising with misspellings and the other half with proper spellings, you should have a well rounded campaign that is more successful than using misspellings in each PPC ad.

Companies all over the world are now using the Search Engine Optimisation techniques. Their businesses have prospered because of this implementation. However, if you want to stay in the lead over your competitors it is important to know a few tips which this article will provide for you.

The first idea is to know what your competition is doing, which has always been true, but in today’s world with its ever changing landscape you must do this to keep ahead. If you know what another company is using for their SEO strategy then you can tailor yours to outperform them.

When you look into other companies search engine optimisation planning you can see what you may be doing better than anyone else or where you can improve. You want to know who your competition is, what they are implementing and why some of it might be working better than your own SEO strategies. Armed with this knowledge you can make the appropriate changes. This will give you more recognition and get more visitors to your site.

You need to build trust on your site, and if the visitors know that they can rely on the information you provide they will keep coming back. When you are building this trust you want to have a site that is easy to navigate, providing the information they seek. Your business should be the expert that they are looking for.

Keeping your website up to date in its content is mandatory. You won’t get repeat visits if you only have old information. Constantly improve your traffic results by making sure that the search engine is publishing your new content in their results faster. When clients can count on your site for the latest news you will find that you are a destination instead of an accident.

There are always optimisation technical changes going on, and to keep your rankings high you must be aware of anything new that is happening. Companies such as Google, MSN and Yahoo are always trying to improve their search engines which in turn help the businesses on the web. You must keep abreast of any optimisation changes that take place. Your company wants to be on the cutting edge, not following the pack.

Remember: know your competition, develop trust on your website, update your information constantly and watch for any new optimisation techniques. If you implement the four tips mentioned in this article you should see great results from your search engine optimisation strategy.

Google announced at the beginning of 2009 they were implementing changes to search engine optimisation when it comes to keyword usage. Google wants to have less focus on keywords in the future of the internet.

In the past Google has allowed keyword rich content to be published and given a page rank. In fact when the keyword idea first came about Google offered a higher page rank to one primary keyword laden article versus one with a keyword appearing once or twice. This immediately sparked a slew of overstuffed content articles, without much information.

Google changed their ideas to offer page rank to any content with information and quality over keyword stuffing. The new process will limit web content producers even more when it comes to the keyword density.

Google is now looking at an old technique. Ask Jeeves is no longer a popular site for search results. Fewer consumers are using the site because they found Google to offer higher quality results. If you do not remember Ask Jeeves it is a site basing search results off of a question. The consumer would place something like “when was the start of World War II” in the search bar. Then the site would search for relevant web content displaying the most relevant.

Google stated in their press conference they are looking at going back to results based on user questions instead of keywords. This would mean a consumer will need to enter more than just one word or phrase. For consumers searching by “dog collars,” they may not find the best results. Instead a question like “what is the best company for dog collars” may be a better option.

This is just one change that Google is considering. Other areas currently being examined for changes are their mobile based products and user friend lists. In other words Google wants the mobile web option to be more useful to their consumers and will try to increase companies found with a mobile website page.

They are also searching for a way to gain more information regarding users, without bucking privacy laws. Google is looking to set up a page like they did for the news. On the news page a person can set up the site to offer information regarding local events. This way the consumer can open the page and get right to the information they may want rather than searching through the entire country’s events.

All the consumer has to do is input their zip code or city, and users will find a page tailored to their needs. The reason we mention such a change is because it will affect the effectiveness of your company search engine optimisation. It is also a good way to increase the effectiveness of your page. By offering local information or the ability for locally tailored information you could serve your consumers more effectively in the future.

Search engine optimisation will continue to change as new ideas or revamped old ideas come to the forefront to serve the consumer needs.

2008 has been a time of turmoil for small and large companies in just about every country. The credit crunch has affected the revenue stores a company tries to have and made it almost impossible to have a profit for the year. As the credit crunch gives way to a recession things are even more disastrous than before for many of the small businesses. It is always the smaller business that will suffer before a large corporation. To make things a little better SEO techniques are being employed by the smaller companies and it could mean they will make it through the trouble.

Many companies tend to reduce their advertising budget when it comes to a recession. They figure saving money when no one is going to be buying is the best move. However, this is totally wrong. It is better to spend money for advertising, especially if that money is well spent. In other words SEO is usually a very cheap option and many times there are free SEO techniques you can use. By using what is out there a small business really doesn’t have to spend much on marketing and they get to reap the rewards.

In the past some have found that search engine optimisation can be somewhat of a letdown. This is usually a case of mistaken techniques. If you know how to use the SEO tools you will be able to get more results from SEO marketing and other tools than you might have found in the past.

Several small businesses are succeeding now because they are using pay per click ads, AdWords, and other tools that give them target keywords for their clients. They are able to convert the user into a customer. You also need to have a wide range of options available for how to pay for products.

Businesses have been spending a great deal of money for search engine optimisation and marketing in recent months. In fact the SEO and marketing strategies are becoming more popular with the credit crunch. It is simply a cheaper option than other forms of advertising. However, a warning has gone out for all businesses looking for SEO strategy.

Some are saying that companies should spend more time on the text content for their SEO marketing rather than on other forms of marketing. In recent months images and videos have become more popular. They are a way to advertise like commercials on the internet, but is it too much going to these videos? Videos and images take longer to download on a website. Many consumers get irked when it takes so long to get a page to load. After all they want to do their research and buying in a few minutes, not hours.

Studies are showing that businesses moving away from text SEO campaigns could end up losing out. It is better to have more traditional search engine optimisation. When content is neglected for other options it can seriously damage your rankings and revenue.

Some SEO companies like Mr. Flaiz Company is urging websites to return to more traditional SEO options. By getting back to the basics companies can have a stronger campaign. It is about the search terms or keywords used and the content the client will find. It will make the user of the website happier and increase consumer to customer conversion. Those who just hit on a page are not always going to buy something, especially if they don’t like the site. Even Google is changing how they rank pages again to make the best results appear in the first page. Don’t let your page or site fall behind from lack of SEO.

Search engine optimisation seems to be a buzz word thrown around the internet and marketing campaigns, but if you are new to the entire web design and marketing industry you might not understand what the point of the search engine optimisation is or what it really entails. If you want to sell products or services you have to have a decent website, but it is more than that. Your website needs to be found. Just because you have an easy to use and navigate website with products consumers want doesn’t mean they can find you.

In fact unless you use some type of search engine optimisation your site will not make you the money you have the potential of earning. In 2002 a study was completed. The study asked internet users how they find websites they use. Not so startling was the answer that 85% of internet surfers will search with a top search engine like Google and they will not look past page 2 for results. Many internet users will not look past the first 10 matches. If you are not on the first or second page it is difficult for you to be found online.

Internet users are impatient, and growing more so as speed of internet services picks up. We are of the “now” generations. You have to use search engine optimisation to be found and make money. That is the easier answer of what you need to know. Search engine optimisation is a process to help you get the rankings you need on the search engines in order to be found. By using pay per click ads, keyword content and titles you will be found easier than someone who just writes an interesting article. Linking, link baiting, and social networking is also search engine optimisation that you should use.

SEO or search engine optimisation can be difficult to understand for those who are new to the online world and web design. To help you understand what needs to be done you should consider the different search engines and how they work. In a recent study it was found that a search engine may actually devalue your site if you use footer links. Footer links are a way for many individuals to get keywords into their page for the search engine to pick up, but they are not valuable and it can lead to the consideration of being ‘keyword stuffed.’

Keywords on your webpage are important as long as they have a true meaning. In other words a title for the page with a keyword is imperative. Having keywords throughout the article in a logical manner will also be important. A footer link with keywords is generally considered over kill.

You should not use too many keywords in the anchor text. You should have your content in an organised manner with the proper links. The footer links can have keywords, but you don’t want them to be overstuffed. You also want them to be functional. Any link on your page that does not function properly will not be usable to the consumer on your page.

While you should have links to helpful resources you don’t want to be tagged as using the improper links or placing them where they are not needed. Search engine optimisation is more than just getting the search engine to rank your page high. It is about having something the consumer wants.

A consumer that clicks on a page with too many keywords and no helpful data will leave immediately. This will sooner or later get your page ranked lower in the results. For those new to the game it is a good idea to learn as much as possible and perhaps to hire a professional.
